PM RELEASESÂ Â NEW SERIES OF COINSÂ
Dated 07.06.2022 :  Many newspapers and media houses had reported , based on unofficial  sources , that Reserve Bank of India ( RBI ) had recommended to the Government of India for issue of new currency notes with images of famous personalities other than Mahatma Gandhi  . The names included Nobel Laurette Sri Rabindranath Tagore and Former President Sri A.P.J . Abdul Kalam . The news further stated that GOI is actively considering the proposal  .Â
Now RBI has put an end to such rumors  by rebutting the news and by stating  that there is no such proposal in the Reserve Bank .  Hence RBI will continue to issue currency notes only with the image of Mahatma Gandhi , the father of the nation .Â
